The Challenge
Designing the Bless Retirement Homes for senior citizens in Cochin, Kerala, presents several unique challenges. One of the primary challenges is ensuring accessibility throughout the facility, which requires careful planning and the incorporation of features like ramps, handrails, and wide doorways. Another challenge is creating a comfortable and homely atmosphere while maintaining modern amenities and sustainability. This involves selecting eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems that do not compromise on comfort. Additionally, designing communal areas that foster a sense of community and belonging, while also providing privacy and personal space, requires a delicate balance. Integrating on-site medical facilities and emergency response systems seamlessly into the design is also crucial to ensure the well-being of residents.
The Approach
Our approach to designing the Bless Retirement Homes for senior citizens in Cochin, Kerala, is centered around creating a serene and comfortable living environment that caters to the unique needs of the elderly. We prioritize accessibility by incorporating features like ramps, handrails, and wide doorways to ensure ease of movement. Comfort is key, with ample natural light, ventilation, and ergonomic furniture to create a homely atmosphere. We also focus on fostering a sense of community by designing communal areas for socializing, activities, and events. Additionally, we integrate on-site medical facilities and emergency response systems to ensure the well-being of residents. Sustainability is a core principle, using eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems to create a sustainable living environment. Our goal is to provide a peaceful and fulfilling lifestyle for senior citizens, allowing them to enjoy their golden years in comfort and dignity.
